JS and the DOM

For the past few weeks we have been learning about JS and the Dom using a great webpage for learning about a lot of different topics, Khan Academy. In Khan Academy we were learning about creating our own webpage by completing a lot of interactive exercises, watching videos and after we finished all the exercises we fulfilled a test to check what we learned. After the test, me and Tobias(my partner) had to record a (made up) interview about some questions on the JS and the Dom work and finally upload the interview to SoundCloud, an audio distribution platform.

DOM AND JS

This three last weeks we worked in a quiz and a project. The quiz was in the app Khan Academy. It was about DOM and Java Script. In this project we recorded our voices inthe app Audacity and then we download a song and converted in mp3. When the song was download as mp3 we insert the music in Audacity and finally we edit it. In the computer we created a file that contains another file and the foulder from audacity. This file we compres them and then we upload to Google Drive.  After that we download the audio in Sound Cloud  and made a banner in Google Draw. To end the project we download everything in Blogger. With this project we have a lot of trouble by doing it but finally we discovered that it was easier than what we thought.

Java Scrip and Dom

The last few sessions of computing we worked on Khan Academy, an already known plattform for us since we had already worked with it to dig into different topics. This time, we had to work in pairs to do a new type of project with what we learned in the last sessions about Javascript and DOM. Essentially, what we were assigned to do, was to watch some videos on Khan Academy and then afterwards, based on what we had learned, was to record some type of radio-like interview between the two members of each group. The questions were asked by one member, and the other person had to answer those questions, which by the way, were all based on JS and DOM. Those questions had the structure of the last three question-models of the critical thinking skills questions. In this post is the work of me and my partner, following the task´s instructions.

Here is the song that we used for the background of our audio:

Last, here are our audios with the questions and answers we made with the videos of Kahn Academy:

JS & DOM with selena

This last months we have been working with Khan Academy, an educative web page. The main goal of these exercise was to create a webpage. But not only designing it, we should actually create it by using code.
However for this month exercise the task was to record a sort of “ interview”(fictional)  with the topic “JS and the DOM” from the current class mission on Khan Academy .  One of the requirements for this exercise was to create three questions but instead of thinking random questions on our own, we should create them based on stage 4,5 and 6 from the last exercise we did.

But this was not a common work because instead of just writing we recorded our voices. Certainly was this a challenge. This new tool was not easy to use, but the reward of learning is better.
Here it is:

Java Script and Dom

In this activity we learn how to use Javascript and Dom with Khan academy. We had to record our voices making an interview with questions about this two topics. First you saw videos in khan academy that tell us all about Javascript and Dom. With all that information and the instructions of the three last banner we made three questions and then we anwer them. Then with the questions and anwers we made a recorded interview. We recorded the interview with a application called Audicity. It was a hard to work with this app because we have a lot of dificultates to put all the audios together. Because we must to recordered the three question separetly and then we put them together. Despite all the dificulties it was interesting to work with audios and codes.

Here is the link with the drive folder I hope you can listen to our audio. I worked with Julian Proto Cassina

The Hour Of Code Second Report

The experience with Khan Academy

Since one week we start working on a page called Khan Academy.
Khan Academy is a non-profit organization. In 2006 the american educator Salman Khan create this website and organisation with one goal: give education for people allover the world. They have more than 4.300 videos, totaly free, about many subjects. There are translate in more than 36 languages. In this case we are in the suject Informatics, therefore we start with the topic of "drawing with codes". In this topic we learn how we can drawing in the computer and the only way is with codes. It is inportant to remember the codes, so you can draw more quickly.

To learn how to use each code you have to complete two steps: first  you learn about it works and how you can use it and second you practice the lesson.

I share here a picture of the lesson and also the link of the video, where I learn from:
